Meagen Moreland-Taliancich is thrilled to re-join the team of Gambel Communications, showcasing over 15 years of multi-sector communications experience at the local, national and international level. A native of South Carolina, Meagen is a graduate of The George Washington University and earned a master’s from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst in French Studies.
In 2014, she joined the Consulate General of France in Louisiana as Press & Communications Attaché, where she served as a spokesperson for the French government through multiple crisis scenarios, severe weather events, cultural festivals and led PR efforts for the diplomatic visits of high-ranking political figures from across the world, including the first female Mayor of Paris and the Ambassador of France in the United States. During this time, Meagen also completed formal PR and crisis management training in Paris at the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In 2018, Meagen first joined the team at Gambel Communications, where she led local and national outreach for a variety of fascinating clients, including the Louisiana Office of Tourism, T. Parker Host, Hostelling International USA, Bridge House / Grace House and the George Rodrigue Life & Legacy Foundation.
In February 2020, Meagen and her business partners opened Happy Raptor Distilling on Carondelet St. in New Orleans, where she served as Co-Founder and Chief Brand Officer – joining only 8% of female distillery owners nationally. As an entrepreneur, Meagen built the company brand from the ground up, managed an exceptional team of people and led communications and strategy through a pandemic, category 4 hurricane and uniquely challenging economic environment.
Meagen is a proud alumnus of Beloved Community’s Equity at Work: Hospitality inaugural cohort, a two-year intensive requiring over 60 hours of equity training, as well as the Goldman-Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Program, the City of New Orleans Civic Leadership Academy, Bryan Bell Leadership Forum and the Loyola Institute of Politics.
In July 2021, Meagen was awarded the cover of Biz Magazine as a New & Notable and, in 2022, was named one of the 500 Most Influential Leaders in New Orleans. She has personally been featured in local and national media publications. In 2024, Meagen was honored with the Anvil Award and the Award of Excellence from the Public Relations Society of America for her work with the Louisiana Children’s Museum and United Way of Southeast Louisiana. When she’s not serving clients, Meagen is reading celebrity memoirs, cooking new recipes and embarking on adventures with her husband, Mark, their two young sons, Zeek and Charlie, and the family cat, Samiappe.
