Gambel Communications Welcomes New Communications Coordinator

NEW ORLEANS (Jan. 13, 2021) – New Orleans-based public relations firm Gambel Communications is pleased to announce that Kendra Smith-Parks has joined the team as a communications coordinator. The appointment is effective immediately.

As a communications coordinator, Smith-Parks’ responsibilities include media and community relations, as well as social media and digital marketing for clients representing a variety of disciplines. Smith-Parks is assisting with a myriad of clients including Shake Shack, Operation Restoration, the New Orleans Women and Children’s Shelter and The Odeon at South Market.

“We look forward to a new year of new opportunities. One such opportunity we have already realized is adding to our team with an amazing new talent in Kendra,” said Amy Boyle Collins, CEO of Gambel Communications. “She is already making an impact with her past experience in local journalism and digital media. I’m confident Kendra will thrive as part of our firm.”

Smith-Parks graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. Her first writing internship was with Dime Entertainment Magazine where she joined a small group to write about the southeast region’s favorite food, drinks, music, politics and art.

After graduation, Smith-Parks moved down to New Orleans to work for The Times-Picayune as a Community News Fellow. At the newspaper, she covered a wide variety of content ranging from Mardi Gras museums to fashion exhibit openings and local business roundups. She later joined FOX 8 WVUE-TV, where she worked as a Digital Content Producer.
