Pelican Pictures Wins Telly Award for River District Neighborhood Investors Video

New Orleans Companies Honored Worldwide

NEW ORLEANS (June 11, 2021) – The Telly Awards recently announced that the River District Neighborhood Investors’ (RDNI) presentation, produced by Pelican Pictures, Inc. (pelicanpictures.com), won a 2021 Silver Telly Award for Best Non-Broadcast General Corporate Image Video.  The video (at vimeo.com/joesanford) is the latest of Pelican Pictures’ many internationally-recognized works.

The presentation outlines RDNI’s plans to develop the 39-acre area adjacent to the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, which is expected to be a half-billion dollar investment. RDNI selected Pelican Pictures, Inc. and Gambel Communications as their partners to direct and produce the video, which they presented to the Ernest N. Morial New Orleans Exhibition Hall Authority earlier this year.

Pelican Pictures is a New Orleans production and marketing company specializing in 4k and 5k electronic cinematography.  Director Joseph Sanford has produced iconic marketing campaigns for a large array of both local and national clients.  His projects have garnered multiple previous Telly Award wins, including videos produced and directed for Slidell Memorial Hospital (Oschner), the New Orleans World Trade Center, and West Jefferson Medical Center.

Sanford says, “It was such an honor to work with the developers, architects and planners who have a great vision for our city: a concept for a neighborhood that sits in harmony with the rest of the city, an entire district that will help advance the vision of the Convention Center.”

Founded in 1979, the Telly Awards (tellyawards.com) honor excellence and creativity in video and television in all forms and are judged by industry leaders such as Netflix, A&E Networks, Hearst Media, Nickelodeon, Vimeo, ESPN Films and Dow Jones. The Telly Awards have attracted more than 12,000 entries annually from content producers such as the BBC, Conde Nast, The Walt Disney Company and PBS.
