Museum café debuts in the French Quarter
The Historic New Orleans Collection partners with local purveyors to offer weekly specials
NEW ORLEANS — The Historic New Orleans Collection (THNOC) debuted The Café at the Collection this past Saturday offering an innovative menu envisioned by Café Manager, Emma Barnes and Kitchen Manager, Thalita McDonnell, both stalwarts in the culinary realm.
“High-quality on-site café dining and shopping are considered integral parts of museum experiences for many visitors,” says THNOC’s Director of Institutional Advancement, Heather Hodges. “The Café will add value to what is already a free French Quarter museum experience. Our guests can enjoy delicious food at affordable prices and dine in our beautiful courtyard.”
Along with the award-winning Shop at the Collection, The Café is situated within THNOC's marquee exhibition center at 520 Royal St. in the heart of the French Quarter. Visitors can relish specialty coffee beverages alongside a diverse menu featuring soup, salads, sandwiches, sweets, daily specials and a curated selection of vegan and gluten-free options sourced from local purveyors that will change weekly.
The Café at the Collection proudly collaborates with partners that include Cicada Calling Farms, Petit Jardin, Pearl River Pastures, Mammoth Espresso, Urban South Brewery, Wild Bush Vineyard and Saint James Cheese Company. It reflects a commitment to showcasing the finest local produce and artisanal offerings.
The Café will offer both indoor and outdoor seating and operate in sync with museum hours, welcoming visitors Tuesday through Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and on Sundays from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
