Board Members KID smART

NEW ORLEANS – KID smART is pleased to welcome Stuart Gay, Emily Wolff and Rachel Bailey to its board of directors.

Artists Campbell Hutchinson and Allison Stewart founded KID smART in 1999 to provide public school students with greater access to arts-rich education. In its 24-year history, KID smART has served more than 63,000 students and 11,000 teachers in schools throughout New Orleans. With the belief that the power of the arts should be available to all New Orleans children, KID smART works within public schools to reach underserved children with the most to gain from an arts-rich, social-emotional education.

“In what feels like the blink of an eye, KID smART is entering our 25th year,” said Elise Gallinot Goldman, executive director of KID smART. “I could not be more excited about the year ahead. We’re thrilled to welcome our new board members who share our values of collaboration, creativity, sustainability, access and equity.”

Previously the CFO for Agleirs Charter School, Gay currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer for NOLA Public Schools. Prior to that, Gay worked for Afton Partners consulting for charter schools, school districts, funders and supporters of public education with a focus on financial and operational sustainability, funding equity and transparency. Gay received his bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of New Orleans and an MBA from Louisiana State University Shreveport. He has also served on several boards, including the Kiwanis Club, 610 Stompers, Algiers Economic Development Foundation, Woodlands Trail and Park and Louisiana Asset Management Pool. He will serve as a member of KID smART’s Finance Committee.

Wolff is the Senior Director of Community Benefits for Children's Hospital New Orleans, where she leads several initiatives to bring care outside of the hospital walls in order to positively impact the lives of vulnerable children. Prior to this, she served as the Founder and Director of the Mayor's Office of Youth and Families for the City of New Orleans. Wolff founded the Broadmoor Arts & Wellness Center which continues to serve children, adults and seniors through affordable arts enrichment and wellness services. She graduated from Bard College with a bachelor’s degree in sociology and received her master’s degree in public administration from UC Berkeley’s Goldman School of Public Policy.

Bailey is the Founder of Optimum Legal Consulting and an activist in bringing communities to the table for conversation, connection and nourishment. She is also the co-founder of Telluride Table, a community-focused music, food and wine festival based in Telluride, CO. Her outreach stems from her passion for community togetherness around food, music and craftsmanship. Through these passions, you will find her involvement in local theaters, community focused festivals and global art communities. Bailey received her bachelor’s degree in business and marketing from Spring Hill College in Mobile, AL. She also serves as an ambassador for the Epic Foundation, a global foundation which seeks to empower and protect children, youth and our planet. She will serve as a member of KID smART’s Fund Development Committee.
