Gambel Communications Welcomes Sharon Truxillo
NEW ORLEANS (May 9, 2022) – Gambel Communications, a premiere New Orleans-based public relations agency, is pleased to announce that Sharon Truxillo joined the team as a senior communications strategist. The appointment is effective immediately.
As a senior communications strategist, Truxillo will develop and manage communications strategies and solutions for a variety of accounts, including New Orleans Women & Children’s Shelter, Plush Appeal, The River District and the New Orleans Chamber of Commerce. She served previously as public affairs director for Cox Communications.

A New Orleans native, Truxillo has more than 20 years of strategic communications experience forging private and public partnerships, spearheading creative solutions that advance brand trust and shaping stronger communities. She has worked for nonprofit organizations, the US Congress as a press secretary and private corporations such as Cox. Her clients have included the U.S. Departments of Education and Labor, Louisiana Partners for Healthy Babies and the Louisiana Organ Procurement Agency.
In her spare time, Truxillo enjoys working for causes that improve outcomes for women and children. She is a member of the Advisory Board of the Salvation Army of Greater New Orleans and a former member of the board of the Jefferson Parish Chamber of Commerce and a former Chairman’s Council member of the New Orleans Chamber of Commerce. She is 2021 graduate of Leadership Jefferson and a 2012 graduate of Leadership Baton Rouge.
Sharon and her husband, Jack, live in New Orleans. She has one son, Cooper, who attends St. Paul’s in Covington.
