Italian American Fishing Rodeo Donates $34,175 To Children’s Hospital New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS – Following the 16th Italian American Fishing Rodeo held June 10-11, event organizers presented Children’s Hospital New Orleans with a $34,175 donation to support the hospital’s’ vision of shaping a happier, healthier tomorrow for Louisiana’s children.

“Children’s Hospital is dedicated to providing expert care for our region’s most vulnerable children, and we can’t do that without the support of our community,” says Children’s Hospital New Orleans Senior Director of Marketing and Institutional Advancement, Kristen Robinson. “The generosity and support from the Italian American Fishing Rodeo year after year supports our = areas of greatest need, like providing lifesaving equipment or sustaining essential programs like our ThriveKids student wellness project.”

The 16th annual event took place at the Hopedale Marina and included fishing, raffle items and a silent auction. The Italian American Fishing Rodeo’s long-standing partnership with Children’s Hospital has resulted in a lifetime donation of $245,000.

“When we restarted this event that was operated by our fathers back in the 1970s and 1980s, we talked about ways to impact our community. The discussion quickly moved to Children’s Hospital and all of the ways they impact young lives and families dealing with all pediatric health issues in our community. It was an easy decision to support their cause and the great work they do in NOLA,” said Allen Catorie, Italian American Fishing Rodeo co-director.
