Join The Jefferson Chamber of Commerce for 16th Annual Tour de Jefferson

NEW ORLEANS  –  Registration for the Jefferson Chamber of Commerce’s annual bicycle ridethrough Jefferson Parish is open now. Whether you're an experienced rider or enjoy leisurely family bike rides, Tour De Jefferson, presented by Laitram, has something for you. Early bird registrants can take advantage of a 15-percent discount now through Friday, September 23. 

 Riders for the 16th annual event will meet Sunday, October 23 at the Estelle Playground (5801 Leo Kerner, Lafitte Parkway, Marrero) for kick-off at 7:30 a.m. 

Participants can choose between four different cycling routes at distances of 11 miles, 19.7 miles, 31 miles and 50 miles. This event is a social ride for cycling enthusiasts of all experience levels through Jefferson Parish. 

 “We are thrilled to offer the community a fun, safe and family-friendly bike ride through the scenery of Jefferson Parish,” said Ruth Lawson, Jefferson Chamber President. “It’s a great kick off to the Fall and a unique way to experience the scenery of Louisiana’s heartland!”

 The goal of this ride is to enhance the awareness of what Jefferson Parish has to offer. Proceeds from this event will help fund the Jefferson Chamber’s efforts in advocacy and quality of life initiatives.

 “I’ve watched Tour de Jefferson grow into one of the largest outdoor community events Jefferson Parish has to offer, and I’m extremely proud to continue supporting this tradition,” said Ricky Templet, Jefferson Parish Councilman-At-Large, Division A. “North to south, our parish comprises a very diverse landscape, and this event is a terrific showcase of the West Bank’s beauty.”
