SHAKE SHACK BRINGS BANANAS FOSTER SHAKE TO NEW ORLEANS-AREA LOCATIONS

For a limited time only, Shake Shack locations will feature a frozen twist to a classic New Orleans dessert 

NEW ORLEANS, LA (Jan. 12, 2021) - During a Carnival Season like no other, Shake Shack will be spinning up a classic New Orleans dessert to feature on local area menus. Available through Feb. 28, the Bananas Foster Shake can be purchased exclusively at our Downtown New Orleans Shack at 333 Canal St., in Canal Place, and the Metairie Shack, at ​3501 Veterans Memorial Blvd.​, just off North Causeway Boulevard on the corner of Severn Avenue.

The shake will feature real banana hand spun with Shake Shack’s signature vanilla frozen custard, caramel sauce and shortbread cookie crumbles. In addition to these delicious ingredients, our vanilla custard recipe is made with only real sugar (no high-fructose corn syrup), cage-free eggs and milk from dairy farms who pledge not to use artificial growth hormones. 

Louisiana will be celebrating Mardi Gras a little different this year and there’s no better way to keep the Carnival season alive than with a delicious frozen take on a classic local treat.

“This year, we wanted to create a riff on the iconic Bananas Foster dessert by blending real banana and salted caramel into our Shack frozen vanilla custard. We also added bits of crumbled shortbread cookie for texture too. This year’s Mardi Gras celebrations will look different than in years past, and we’re happy to be able to offer this item which can be ordered and enjoyed in the comfort and safety of your own home,” said Mark Rosati, Culinary Director at Shake Shack.

Guests can order the Bananas Foster Shake in-Shack or preorder via the Shack App or order.shakeshack.com.  The Shake is also available for delivery through participating delivery partners.
