Movie Night at the New Canal Lighthouse

NEW ORLEANS (Sept. 5, 2024) — Friday, Sept. 27 Pontchartrain Conservancy is excited to offer community members the opportunity to attend a free showing of “Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure” at the New Canal Lighthouse located at 8001 Lakeshore Dr. in New Orleans as part of New Orleans Recreation Development Commission’s (NORD) fall Movie in the Park series. Gates will open at 6 p.m., with the movie starting at dusk.

“We are thrilled to celebrate Pontchartrain Conservancy’s 35th Anniversary with a movie that first premiered in 1989, the same year our organization was founded,” said Kristi Trail, executive director of Pontchartrain Conservancy. “We invite community members to join us and take a nostalgic step back in time with this beloved classic.”

Community members are invited to come out to the Lighthouse to enjoy the movie and learn more about the importance of Lake Pontchartrain to our area. In addition to educational resources, Pontchartrain Conservancy will be offering snack and beverage options for sale, including beer. Event attendees are encouraged to wear 80’s attire.

Admission is free but limited to the first 250 attendees. For more information about the event, please visit https://scienceforourcoast.org
